On this instalment of Hard Beautiful Journey, I am joined by my AMAZING cousin James Carson.
James is a 1st-grade teacher, but in his spare time, he does what he loves most which was rollerblading. James fulfilled a lifelong goal of rollerblading across Ontario to then only top that off by cycling across Canada, both times raising tens of thousands of dollars for cancer research and Royal Victoria Regional Health Center for child and youth mental health and patient unit.
In this episode, James audaciously shares his diagnosis of major depressive disorder and anxiety. He uses this opportunity to offer some insight on mental health from the male perspective. Admittedly, James expresses how he never considered the mental health of others until he experienced himself. Now, he creates space for compassion and empathy towards others, including his students.
